How This Work Began
ICKY Schools began when two independent experiences emerging from the same Kentucky school district revealed broader questions about how educator misconduct, institutional responses, and administrative investigations were being handled. As those stories became public, it quickly became clear they were not isolated.
Survivors, families, educators, community members, advocates, and legislators began coming together around a shared belief: protecting students requires stronger systems, greater transparency, and meaningful accountability.
What began as local advocacy has grown into a coalition committed to strengthening legislation, professional standards, institutional accountability, administrative investigations, research, and education. And we're just getting started.
